    1. Lumberjanes, Vol. 4 finally delivers a story line in which Jen gets a chance to shine. Yay, Jen!We are also treated to a bit of background about Camp Lumberjane itself. Also, the weather takes a turn as a winter blizzard appears out of nowhere in the middle of summer.Things are awfully weird around here. Good thing the Lumberjanes have each other.Recommended for the adventurous reader and timid reader and everyone in-between.

    2. The best of the series so far.It was summer at camp… and then it wasn’t summer anymore. A storm hits the Lumberjanes without notice and dangerous creatures start following them. Jen and the girls get separated. The art is back to normal, though not for long, as I peeked at the art of the next two volumes and it’s the same amateurish one as in the third volume. Enjoy it while it lasts. (I don’t find professional this change in art styles and illustrators.) I don’t know about you, but I [...]

    3. So I got all whiny about Vol. 3, which is the trade published right after Lumberjanes transitioned from a limited series to an ongoing one. I wasn't quite sure how to feel about it. They changed the artists all around (I hate when comics do that), and the story felt less silly and frenetic. It wasn't bad, just different. But Brooke Allen is back as the artist here in Vol. 4 (hooray!), and the story felt more like it did in Vols. 1 & 2 again, except with slight differences (there would have t [...]

    4. I love my Lumberjanes. There's friendship and love and big group hugs, adventures and bravery and dangerous beasts, fun and humour and always an incredibly good time.

    6. Sin duda uno de mis volúmenes favoritos hasta ahora. La historia: brutal. Las ilustraciones: maravillosas. Todo: genial. Es que no me canso de repetirlo.

    7. BookTubeAThon Challenge: Read a book in one dayYay for more Jen and Barney! Probably my favourite characters to come out of this series!

    8. StoryI picked up this series because it combines two things I love: camping/scouting and fantasy. I wasn't really sure where this series was going until now, it just sort of seemed to be a mash-up of sorts with no well defined direction. That was fine by me though, and I've enjoyed the three previous trades enough to have picked up the first volume of the hardcover versions. This volume was definitely a step up though. Some of the mysteries surrounding the camp where they are staying are starting [...]

    9. This one was much better than the other two. Like, a lot better. The story really went well, and it tied together a character that was in the first volume. Really, all around excellent. If I hadn't liked this one, I wasn't going to carry on with this series, but if there's a new volume coming out, I'll definitely look into it.In other news are there trans characters in this now???? We have a lesbian couple, tons of great female friendships, and, from what they lightly hinted, at least one trans [...]

    10. way better then the third one i wish I was apart of the lumberjanes squad there awesome 😍❤

    11. This is definitely my favorite volume yet! This one really takes this story to another level. This volume has a really concrete plot and it's filled with intrigue and mystery as we are introduced to a new character. We also get a ton of backstory and learn some interesting things about the Lumberjanes world.I think I've already said this, but I'm bringing it up again; this needs to be a tv show. It's supposedly becoming a movie, and there isn't a ton of info about it but it looks like it's happen [...]

    12. This loses a star because there wasn't really anything new revealed. I think I'm more annoyed by the lack of answers than the Lumberjanes are.

    13. This was a great volume. We GET BACK STORY! A Few of the dots are connected. We learn who Bear woman used to be and we see Rosie back at camp when she was a girl. We learn that this is something about protecting the weird things we keep seeing. Rosie and Abigail have history together and it's a great story. Jen learns to drive and the girls are up to their fun. It also sounds like Jo might be trans - not sure and it didn't spell it out, just an allusion. The art is kinetic as ever and as colorful [...]

    14. Love the art in these books and the stories are great! I hope these manage to reach more young people and they will take the time to look up the names of famous women in history. It reveals a sad hole in our educational system that we all know about George Washington but not Maria V. Klenova or Cecilia H. Payne? Our history books are entirely too male dominated!

    15. Joyful, gorgeous, and with added moral complexity that's deepening the world of the series. But OF COURSE the one message keeps on carrying through: Friendship to the Max! I love these graphic novels SO MUCH. (And I am sooooooooo sad that this is the last full volume to be written by Noelle Stevenson!)

    16. So, after a below par Volume 3, Lumberjanes Vol 4 is a huge improvement and provides us with some much needed backstory between Rosie (the camp's leader) and Abigail (her friend from summer camp). We also get a lovely insight into Jen's character which is touching and seals her bond with the lumberjanes team. I'm sooo very glad that Brooke Allen is once again the illustrator, perfecting the characters we have come to love and recognise. The colours are bright and vivid which creates a striking a [...]

    17. PERFECTION. +a single author aka Noelle Stevenson! +a single artist I liked the hodgepodge fun of the last volume but really enjoyed the cohesiveness of this one. Great storytelling! +delving into back stories +a featured library! and a good lesson about the dangers of shoddy research +and ending this sets up an intriguing mystery to explore in the next issues

    18. This was much better than the last volume, it had that sense of adventure again it had been missing. looking forward to the next one.

    19. OMG THIS. WAS. SO. GREAT!!!!!!!!!Glee. So much glee. MARIGOLD THE CAT. Samwise Po-Tay-Tos. I die. I loved this so much I can't even.

    20. OMG!!!!! This was so epic.Jen I knew you'd go places in these book but seriously I didn't think you'd become an adrenaline junkie. Go girl!! I love how Jen got all assertive and stuff, but also her love for books was cool to see.And seriously April, how are you so strong! What the hell girl! I'm calling it now she's either a superhero or she's a demigod and if i'm right - well i called it FIRST! They have ONLY been at that camp for LESS than a week!!!!!!!! What the actual hell is going on. I nee [...]
